Psy's K-pop hit "Gangnam Style" by Psy and children's song "Baby Shark" are among the most iconic moments in YouTube's 20-year history.

The New York Times on April 23 included the two in 18 of YouTube's "biggest moments in history" to mark the video sharing platform's milestone.

Released in 2012, "Gangnam Style" was the first video on YouTube to surpass a billion views, emerging as iconic content that helped K-pop go global.

"Baby Shark," which came out in 2016 and became the most viewed video in YouTube history in 2020, grew popular among all age groups despite being a children's song. It remains the most watched video on the platform with 15.8 billion views to date.

The list also includes the video "$456,000 Squid Game in Real Life!" by YouTuber MrBeast, a competition based on the smash Netflix series "Squid Game."
