"The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call," an original Netflix TV series released on Jan. 24, has surpassed the second season of "Squid Game" for the top spot on Netflix's chart for TV series not in English.

The streaming service's official site Netflix Top 10 on Feb. 5 said the medical comedy attracted a combined 11.9 million viewing hours worldwide in the fifth week of January (Jan. 27 to Feb. 2). Netflix compiles such data every week and announces the results on the site.

"Trauma Code" ranked in the top 10 in 63 countries including Mexico, Egypt, France and New Zealand, hitting No. 1 in 17 such as Chile, Peru, Thailand and Indonesia.

The series is about the gifted trauma surgeon Baek Kang-hyuk (played by actor Ju Ji-hoon), who is assigned to rebuild the struggling trauma center of a university hospital.

This was one of four K-dramas in Netflix's top 10 non-English TV series. "Squid Game" season two was second, season one fifth and the reality dating show "Single's Inferno 4" sixth.
